Research & Horizons

New operational worlds built on the same STOIX foundation

Research & Horizons brings together two related parts of STOIXLAB: applied directions that can become future systems, and foundational research that extends the capabilities beneath them.

The three current horizons — Electronic Operator, stoiXSea, and Veritas — address very different environments, but share the same discipline around state, evidence, uncertainty, authority, and verified outcomes.

Electronic Operator stoiXSea Veritas Foundational Research

Data Center / Electronic Operator

Supervisory intelligence for cyber-physical infrastructure

A modern data center is simultaneously a digital platform, an engineering plant, a physical environment, and a human-operated system. Compute, network, power, cooling, equipment telemetry, and operational decisions are usually managed through separate tools even though a real incident can propagate across several of them at once.

Electronic Operator explores a supervisory layer above these specialized systems. Its role is to reconstruct a shared operational state, relate changes across technical domains, qualify uncertainty, and support intervention without replacing PLCs, BMS, hard real-time controllers, or engineering authority.

The distinctive value is cross-domain reasoning: a workload change, cooling anomaly, power constraint, and equipment condition can be treated as parts of one evolving situation rather than unrelated alarms.

Cross-Domain State

Compute, network, power, cooling, equipment telemetry, and physical conditions are interpreted as one connected environment.

Temporal Reasoning

Digital and physical changes are reconstructed through time so the system can distinguish current state from the path that produced it.

Governed Intervention

Candidate actions are evaluated against dependencies, constraints, authority, and safety boundaries before intervention.

Verified Outcome

The system checks the resulting physical and operational state after intervention instead of treating command execution as success.

Direction: Electronic Operator is a natural extension of STOIX from digital infrastructure assurance into cyber-physical infrastructure supervision.

Maritime & logistics

stoiXSea

Distributed maritime and logistics intelligence

stoiXSea extends STOIX into an environment where vessel state, machinery, cargo, route, communications, weather, logistics handoffs, and fleet-level dependencies form one evolving physical system.

Its role has expanded beyond conventional fleet-management software. With STOIX Node, Temporal, distributed communications, and common evidence architecture, the vessel can become a bounded point of presence for the STOIX system rather than a passive endpoint of a central system.

This creates a model that can continue to reason locally under intermittent connectivity, preserve evidence and temporal context, synchronize later, and reconcile vessel-level state with fleet and logistics topology.

On-Board Operational State

Machinery, energy, navigation, stabilization, vessel systems, and local telemetry contribute to a shared operational context.

Environment & Cargo

Weather, cargo condition, route, checkpoints, custody, and transfer events remain part of the same evidence model.

Distributed Operation

Intermittent connectivity, local state continuity, delayed synchronization, and bounded local behavior are first-class conditions.

Fleet & Logistics Topology

Vessel, fleet, shipment, handoff, and flow relationships can be analyzed across multiple operational scales.

engine sensors → local operational cell → vessel node → fleet

The Digital Twin becomes an operational state model connecting physical state, relationships, constraints, historical context, and candidate interventions.

Placement ≠ Authority

Direction: stoiXSea remains a longer-horizon STOIXLAB direction and a potential distributed cyber-physical STOIX system for maritime and logistics environments.

Evidence & relationships

Veritas

Evidence architecture for people, organizations, and claims

Veritas applies the STOIX evidence model to professional and organizational information: who a person or organization claims to be, what relationships existed, when they existed, which sources support those claims, and where the available evidence conflicts or remains incomplete.

Instead of reducing trust to a single opaque score, Veritas builds an explicit evidence map. Claims remain separate from facts, multiple sources do not automatically become independent confirmation, and uncertainty remains visible rather than being hidden by a confident-looking verdict.

This is useful in environments where decisions depend on professional history, organizational relationships, procurement context, credentials, or possible conflicts of interest, and where the reasoning behind a conclusion matters as much as the conclusion itself.

Claim Structure

Statements about people, roles, history, credentials, and organizations remain explicit claims until supported by qualified evidence.

Relationship & Time

People, organizations, projects, roles, and events are linked through temporal and relational context rather than isolated records.

Evidence Conflict

Confirmation, contradiction, source dependence, and unresolved gaps remain visible in the model.

Investigation Path

The system can show which missing source, relationship, or event would have the highest value for further investigation.

Claim → Source → Evidence → Relationship → Time → Confirmation / Conflict / Unknown

Potential applications include professional background verification, organizational relationships, HR risk, procurement analysis, and conflict-of-interest investigation.

Direction: Veritas explores evidence-grounded professional and organizational intelligence without collapsing the result into a trust score or automatic fraud verdict.

Foundational Research

Research beneath the product and horizon layer

STOIXLAB research develops mechanisms that may later become part of Platform Services, Applied Programs, or new Product Domains. These directions are research surfaces, not claims of completed product capability.

Evidence-Governed Expert Fabric

How can human experts, LLMs, and specialized solvers work together while preserving provenance, disagreement, uncertainty, and responsibility?

STOIX Node

Research into a universal runtime capable of receiving different operational roles through Environment, Capability, Decision, and Policy profiles.

Placement ≠ Authority

Active Verification

How can the system select an observation or bounded diagnostic probe that best distinguishes competing hypotheses and reduces uncertainty?

Probe Proposal ≠ Evidence

Investigation Memory

How can prior cases accelerate investigation without turning similarity into proof or causality?

IoT / OT & Physical Systems

STOIX explores a supervisory layer above physical systems. Hard real-time controllers retain their own control loops, while STOIX operates at the higher level of state, constraints, authority, intervention, and outcome verification.
